Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was pretty uneventful but that's ok :) sadly Saturday was my last day of Habitat until August. This house is done. The next isn't until August 10th. What am I going to do with myself?

Anyways. I am living my recent pins :) hope everyone has a great Monday. 

Lamp Makeover

So as we start to build our nest, we have gotten some hand me downs. Some went right to Goodwill (after a sincere thank you of course) and some we have kept. 

My great aunt-the one who happens to live to the same city we moved to-gave us 2 of these lamps. 

I didn't think they were so bad. The shape and size were great but the outdated gold and shade? No. That had to go. 

So.  Off to Lowes I went. 

Our living room is now grey (we painted it when we moved in) but with touches of green, beige and I plan on throwing some pink in there too. 

I went and got Valspar (of course) spray paint. I painted the base with primer (already had) and then spray painted. It took about 3 coats. Of course I covered up the wire and any hardware and removed what hardware I could and the lightbulb. The paint has primer but I still like to do a coat of primer. I also did some silver glitter. 

Then I went to Lowes and got the lampshades on clearance and I think they look great. 

Installed the lampshade and here was the final result:

I am happy with the result. Project cost about $20 total. I am not crafty or DIY at all so I am learning :)

Target Find!

I love Target. Yes mentioned before. 

I went to Target after work for a house warming gift. Right now all of their lawn/yard items are on major sale! I picked up these cute little bumblebee lawn ornaments for $2.30 each!

It's fun actually being able to buy this stuff :)

TGIF by the way. I am looking forward to getting everything done this weekend that got put on hold because I was gone last weekend.

What I Wore Wednesday

Hope everyone is having a great week so far! Here are some of my outfits from the past week. 

Weekend Home Recap and Maurice's Purchases

So this weekend I went home to NC for a visit and my sister's baby shower. (No he does not have a name at this time). My sister is having her 2nd boy due around September 8th. I sit at the airport to leave as I type. 

I love being home and I miss it. The only reason why FL is 'home' is because Matt, Henry and Shirley are there. For now. 

I flew in Friday and hung out at the house with everyone, then Saturday was the shower. It was at brunch time. It was so adorable with all the baby outfits everywhere. And of course, my mom made the cake :)

I wore this dress from Max and Cleo via zappos. It was more then I wanted to spend on the shower dress, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. I wore gold shoes and jewelry. 

I call dibs on these ;)

Baby's aunt is the best!

Then after the shower I went to go see my best friend Molly's new baby girl Scarlett Ella who was born on Monday, then out for dinner with family. 

My dad bought 100 pheasants. They have their own hut and caged in area. 

Today was mostly BBQ and then hanging with family. My grandparents bought an 80 inch tv! About 3 years ago they covered up their pool and built this outside room (it was where my bridal shower was) complete with a wood burning pizza oven.

Of course I stop at Maurice's whenever I am home. Even better is I had a gift card. I got these capris for work and this tank (I love the back!

It was a great weekend. I can't wait to be back in September when my nephew is born :)

JCrew Factory Purchases

I think it's safe to say I'm obsessed with mint green and obsessed with Jcrew. 

JCrew Factory was holding their 50% off jewelry sale so I picked up these pretty mint green earrings. I love them so. They are so much more 'mintier' in person. I also picked up this orange top. I got it in an xs and it has more of a blouse-like fit but I like it. It also comes in navy. 

I am headed home to NC today (leaving work early) for my sister's baby shower tomorrow :) I see Starbucks in my near future. Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Target Purchases!

So I love Target. Yes. I do. 

I really wanted the mint green maxi skirt on the site but it sold so quickly. Really I wanted a mint green skirt. I got this one below and I'm debating taking it to my tailor (I found an amazing one here) to get it knee length. 

I also got this Merona dress. It's an online only item. It's perfect for work.
