I will try to keep this as non-graphic as possible.
Love that sweet face.
Yesterday morning around 9:45, Henry made an odd wheezing sound. He did it once and went back to sleep. Didn't think anything of it.
I go and ride and made a target run, and come back to Henry making the wheezing again, this time much harder and louder. Cue the freak out.
From the time I got home and finished my shower after my ride, he had thrown up 6 times. I could not get ready fast enough, called Matt at work (who of course is slammed and can't leave for another 2 hours) as I am racing with Henry to the emergency vet. Wheezing + vomit = no good.
Matt met us there as soon as he got off (by then I had been there for almost 2 hours waiting for the doctor). It took a while for the vet to figure out what was wrong, and realized that he had gotten a case of kennel cough (I had him vaccinated for this but apparently it isn't always 100% effective) and it was now causing him stress. Poor guy.
4 hours later, 2 medicines and an RX for a third and we headed home.
Today he is doing great and more "himself". We had a few wheezing episodes but nothing to the extent of yesterday thank goodness.
Man, I love my animals very much. I'm so glad he's ok. Definitely a "low" of this weekend but as long as he's ok that's all that matters.
