Weekend Recap

So this past weekend, Matt and I went home to NC to meet my new nephew and for his baptism. We are the Godparents so we were very excited.

Saturday I hung out with my nephews and went out for Mexican for family dinner.  Then we went to the airport and got Matt.

I was very happy when he got here :)

After we went back to my parents house-which is amazing by the way-and hung out with family.

Sunday was the Baptism then reception following at a local Italian restaurant.

We had a great weekend but missed our Shirley and Henry very much and was eager to get back.

We had a great weekend with nephews and family and hope you all had a great weekend too :)

Weekend Home Recap and Maurice's Purchases

So this weekend I went home to NC for a visit and my sister's baby shower. (No he does not have a name at this time). My sister is having her 2nd boy due around September 8th. I sit at the airport to leave as I type.

I love being home and I miss it. The only reason why FL is 'home' is because Matt, Henry and Shirley are there. For now.

I flew in Friday and hung out at the house with everyone, then Saturday was the shower. It was at brunch time. It was so adorable with all the baby outfits everywhere. And of course, my mom made the cake :)

I wore this dress from Max and Cleo via zappos. It was more then I wanted to spend on the shower dress, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. I wore gold shoes and jewelry.

I call dibs on these ;)

Baby's aunt is the best!

Then after the shower I went to go see my best friend Molly's new baby girl Scarlett Ella who was born on Monday, then out for dinner with family.

My dad bought 100 pheasants. They have their own hut and caged in area.

Today was mostly BBQ and then hanging with family. My grandparents bought an 80 inch tv! About 3 years ago they covered up their pool and built this outside room (it was where my bridal shower was) complete with a wood burning pizza oven.

Here's the tv! My grandparents have a collection of photos with people doing this.

Of course I stop at Maurice's whenever I am home. Even better is I had a gift card. I got these capris for work and this tank (I love the back!

It was a great weekend. I can't wait to be back in September when my nephew is born :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Weekend Recap and House Projects!

Wow. I miss my family already. I enjoyed having them here so so much. I missed them a lot.

My dad loves doing house projects and was more then happy to help us which was great as of course, we have a huge list.

My parents overdid themselves. They really did.

We now have a smoke detector in every room and every hallway. But that's boring. ;)

We now have curtains in both bathrooms. Both windows had blinds that were falling down. We really don't need a cover as they are frosted windows, but they look pretty and are such an inexpensive way to brighten up a room.

Here is the guest bathroom. Our bathroom has the same window and same curtain but in chocolate brown.

We also got a new mailbox! The one we had before was falling over and was actually rotting away. I like how our new mailbox has a newspaper slot.

My parents also bought us a new light fixture/fan for over our kitchen table. The connections over the table only work for a fan, so I found a really pretty one I love.

For myself at target, I bought this top and the famous glitter sandal.

Not only did we get a lot of house stuff done, we went to the mall, out for dinner, and celebrated H's birthday.  My mom has those photos but I do have this from when we went out for pizza.

And of course I voluenteered at Habitat for Humanity Saturday, but I only stayed half the shift because of family. I got to now the lawn :)

What a weekend! I miss my family so much. I come from a big, Italian family so being alone like this with everyone back home is tough.

Sigh.

I had an amazing weekend full of love.  Hope everyone had a great one as well.

Memorial Day sale haul and family visit!

As I posted previously, I placed some Memorial Day special orders from Sephora and Macy's. Both packages arrived.

My parents, sister and nephew are in town. They got here yesterday and leave Monday. They wanted a get away, and they haven't seen the house since right after we closed. (And we have done a lot since then!). I am ready for my brother in law to get back as we all miss him so much. My sister especially with this second baby on the way. My dad and my grandpa also served our country but you never get used to it. (Thank you to all of the people who fight for our freedom!). They plan on getting a lot of house stuff done this weekend. My dad loves he improvement projects so he's excited.

I love my nephew :) he turned 3 in January. I love when he calls me 'aunt' it makes my heart melt. I am ready to welcome a second nephew in early September! (No name yet!) My brother in law has 2 kids from his previous marriage who we are all close with as well.

Two of my loves.

Enough of family stuff. Back to shopping!

I ordered 5. Yes. 5. Sephora by opi nail polishes. I also needed more of my Clinique face wash in mild. I have used the 3 step system since I was...11? It's been so long. Seriously. I also got some Sephora Vanilla body scrub (it smells so good!). I've never been disappointed with any Sephora brand product.

The 5 nail polishes from left to right are:

Read my palm, 212-sephora, It's totally karma!, Looks like Rain, Dear and It's Bouquet with me.

I may be returning Its totally Karma!, as I have Sally Hansens Green with Envy, and I've barely used that.

I also got this blazer fro Macy's. I had been eyeing it for a while. It went on sale, then I got an additional 20% off with my Macy's card. It looked more coral online but it fits well and will be great for work. I also loved the subtle polka dot detail and striped button.

It is the Keds Trimmed Blazer. It's on sale now for $34.99 and also comes in navy.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday! Mine is filled with habitat for a few hours then lots of family time :)

I also plan on doing a review of the Garnier Fructis leave in conditioner I got last weekend soon!
